IT Officer

About the role

The IT Officer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all IT infrastructure at Axel Uganda Limited. This full‑time position involves hands‑on technical work, user support, and collaboration with other departments to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, software and network components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on desktops, laptops, printers and servers.
• Provide technical support to end‑users and resolve IT‑related problems promptly.
• Maintain security of IT systems through data backup, antivirus protection and access controls.
• Manage and monitor network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs.
• Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures and standards.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand and fulfil IT requirements.
• Plan and execute IT projects including upgrades, migrations and installations.
• Document system configurations, procedures and knowledge‑base articles.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 24 months of relevant IT experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and attention to detail.
