Lifting Coordinator

About the role

The Lifting Coordinator will oversee all lifting operations on construction or oil‑and‑gas projects, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update load schematics and dimension lifting accessories using AutoCAD.
• Calculate loads, interpret load diagrams and verify ground conditions for safe lifting.
• Coordinate and supervise lifting activities according to approved lifting plans.
• Ensure only certified crane operators, signalers and riggers are engaged and that equipment inspections are performed daily.
• Brief crews on safe lifting procedures, monitor compliance and take corrective actions when needed.
• Validate lifting machine certificates and maintenance programs.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings to align on safety and operational matters.
• Maintain adherence to relevant regulations and the company’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental (SHEQ) policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or related engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in lifting operations within oil & gas or civil construction.
• Completion of a Lifting Supervisors Safety course and APLO certification.
• Proven experience in load planning, equipment selection and risk assessment.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Experience using load calculation software.
• Knowledge of rigging, signaling and crane operation standards.
