Loans Officer

About the role

EMUK Finance is seeking a dedicated Loans Officer to manage the complete loan lifecycle for personal, business, and mortgage customers. Based on‑site in Kampala, you will act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through product options and ensuring smooth processing from application to disbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with clients to assess financial needs and explain loan products.
• Collect, verify, and organise documentation required for loan applications.
• Conduct credit analysis and evaluate collateral in line with company policies.
• Prepare and review loan applications, coordinate underwriting decisions, and ensure timely approval and fund disbursement.
• Provide ongoing customer service throughout the repayment period, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Collaborate with team members to meet portfolio quality targets and uphold high customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Professional experience in loan officer or similar lending roles.
• Strong understanding of loan origination, credit analysis, and risk assessment.
• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of local lending regulations and compliance standards (advantageous).
• Ability to work on‑site in Kampala, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
