Local Coordinator / National IT Expert (Uganda)

About the role

Pepps Engineering is seeking a local expert in Uganda to act as the bridge between its Belgian project team, the national partner, and Ugandan institutional stakeholders, especially NITA‑U. The role ensures the digital transformation project complies with local regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the project locally in Uganda and liaise with institutional stakeholders, including NITA‑U.
• Support compliance with the regulatory framework and national standards on digital, data and cybersecurity matters.
• Facilitate administrative procedures, exchanges and approvals required with NITA‑U and other authorities.
• Provide IT/digital expertise for deployment, integration or local adaptation of solutions.
• Analyze needs and technical constraints specific to the Ugandan market.
• Serve as the local point of contact and advisor throughout the project.
• Collaborate closely with the project teams based in Belgium.

Required profile

• Independent expert or local company able to act as an expert.
• Proven experience in the IT/digital sector.
• Higher education degree in computer science, information technology or an equivalent field.
• Experience on projects related to NITA‑U (National Information Technology Authority – Uganda).
• Good knowledge of the Ugandan digital and regulatory ecosystem.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with remote teams.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with institutional stakeholders.
• Professional English required (French or Swahili is a plus).
