Local Finance Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Local Finance Accountant to join INHEMETER CO., LTD in Kampala. The role focuses on overseeing financial accounting, tax compliance and cash management for our local operations, ensuring alignment with both Ugandan and Chinese accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise local tax agents to guarantee timely bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements in accordance with Ugandan standards and conversion to Chinese standards.
• Manage tax compliance by reviewing calculations, declarations and payments, and addressing any tax-related issues promptly.
• Monitor cash flows, coordinate receipts and disbursements, support cross‑border fund transfers and handle on‑site payment transactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial advice that supports business development.
• Maintain relationships with banks, tax agents and auditors, and coordinate annual and external audits.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience in comprehensive financial and tax management for overseas subsidiaries.
• Experience working abroad, preferably in Africa or Uganda.
• Fluent in English with the ability to use it daily in a professional setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Willingness to reside in Uganda.
