Marketing Officer (Masaka)

About the role

The Rural Development Foundation Uganda (RDF) is seeking a Marketing Officer to lead and execute marketing and communication activities that raise the organisation’s visibility and promote its climate‑smart finance programmes. This is a contract, on‑site position based in Masaka, and the successful candidate will work closely with programme, operations and management teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing plans, campaigns and promotional activities.
• Create and coordinate content for social media, the website, newsletters and other communication channels.
• Prepare marketing materials, reports, presentations, brochures and promotional content.
• Manage and maintain RDF’s social media platforms and digital presence.
• Monitor engagement, campaign performance and audience feedback, recommending improvements.
• Coordinate photography, video, design and other content‑production activities.
• Support public relations, media engagement and stakeholder communications.
• Assist in planning and promoting events, community activities, launches and outreach programmes.
• Ensure consistent use of RDF’s brand identity across all communication materials.
• Conduct basic market research to understand audience needs, trends and opportunities.
• Collect stories, updates and results from programme and field teams.
• Maintain an organised archive of marketing materials, photographs, videos and published content.
• Prepare regular marketing and communication reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
• Relevant experience in marketing, communications, digital media, public relations or a similar role.
• Current residence in Masaka or willingness to relocate before starting.
• Ability to work on‑site in Masaka on a contract basis.
