Network & Security Engineer

About the role

FutureLink is seeking an analytical, emotionally resilient, and collaborative Network & Security Engineer to join its Network and Infrastructure team. The role is critical to maintaining a 99.9% secure platform availability by optimizing performance, managing connectivity, and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support network connectivity across private APN, cellular gateways, site‑to‑site IPsec VPNs, and public internet links.
• Coordinate with external partners and service providers to resolve trunk issues, routing errors, and link degradations.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain core firewalls, routers, switches, and VLANs with strict access control.
• Administer Windows desktop and Linux server environments, using command‑line tools to diagnose traffic and inspect logs.
• Enforce ISO 27001 security policies, assist with system audits, track security logs, and ensure compliant network configurations.
• Monitor infrastructure health, respond to perimeter alerts, and maintain network topology diagrams, incident escalation paths, and SOPs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Network certification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or CompTIA Network+.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with external partners and documentation.

Required skills

• CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or CompTIA Network+ certification.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN segmentation, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, and IPsec VPNs.
• Experience with perimeter firewall configuration and management.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems (CLI navigation, service management).
• Command‑line diagnostics tools such as tcpdump, traceroute, and ss.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 security controls and compliance processes.
