Operations Manager – Broilers

About the role

A leading commercial poultry enterprise, represented by BrighterMonday Consulting, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Broilers to oversee the entire broiler division, including existing facilities and future expansion sites. The role reports to the Agriculture Director and covers planning, execution and optimization of broiler business activities, standardization of SOPs, a data-driven culture and out-grower management, in line with international poultry standards and strict biosecurity.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and execute the daily operations of the broiler division in line with the company's strategic plan.
• Review, revise and implement operational and breeder SOPs to improve efficiency and comply with food safety standards.
• Work with Quality Assurance teams to set up a usable QA framework across broiler sites and enforce 100% biosecurity compliance.
• Set up data-driven reporting and give daily, weekly and monthly reports to the Agriculture Director.
• Engage, train, monitor and manage current and new contract out-growers to company standards.
• Identify training needs, develop local farm managers to international standards and foster knowledge transfer.
• Maintain poultry equipment, infrastructure and production facilities.
• Drive company culture and core values across the broiler department.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture (Animal Production specialization), Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or a closely related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
• 7-10+ years of senior management experience overseeing multiple sites, large teams or complex production functions.
• Mandatory extensive experience in commercial poultry operations (broiler production).
• Proven track record managing contract growers and implementing quality assurance programs.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Success is measured against targets such as 7-day mortality under 1%, feed conversion ratio under 1.85, European Production Efficiency Factor above 280, average live weight of 1.75 kg and 100% biosecurity compliance. Applications are submitted through the BrighterMonday portal.
