Phone Sales Team Lead

About the role

Majibu Africa is looking for an experienced Phone Sales Team Lead to build and manage a high‑performing telephone sales force in Kampala. You will be responsible for recruiting, coaching, and driving a team of agents to meet revenue and conversion targets while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and retain phone sales agents, maintaining an active pipeline of talent.
• Set daily, weekly and monthly sales targets, allocate leads, and monitor performance against goals.
• Conduct regular briefings, performance reviews and coaching sessions to improve agent productivity.
• Lead by example through active phone selling when needed and oversee the sales funnel from lead assignment to closure.
• Analyse conversion rates, call activity and other metrics, implementing corrective actions to close performance gaps.
• Maintain accurate records of recruitment, performance, and compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field (advantageous).
• At least 2 years of experience in telephone sales, telesales or business development.
• Proven experience building and managing a sales team, with strong recruitment and coaching abilities.
• Solid understanding of sales targets, conversion metrics, lead management and performance monitoring.
