Planning Engineer - Tilenga Site

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting a Planning Engineer on behalf of its client SINOPEC. The role sits in the Planning/Control department, reporting to the Planning Manager, and is based at the Tilenga site.

Key responsibilities

• Understand project specifications and develop time schedules and budgets that meet them
• Negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices
• Monitor project progress, write reports, attend and schedule meetings, and coordinate with project teams
• Analyze technical drawings and provide material and cost estimates
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project or similar, and update them for changes in scope, resources or deadlines
• Forecast timelines, identify risks and propose corrective actions to avoid delays
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards and S-curves for stakeholders
• Optimize resource allocation, track productivity and support claims, variations and contractual requirements with schedule data
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, and comply with specifications, safety standards and quality benchmarks

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or similar
• Experience with 3D modelling software
• Planning and project management skills
• Strong analytical, critical and logical thinking, and ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office
• Schedule planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Sound understanding of safety protocols
