About the role
The Uganda Heart Institute is hiring an Assistant Engineering Officer in Kampala (Kamwokya). The role covers routine maintenance, structural inspection and repair of civil and physical infrastructure so that facilities remain safe, operationally effective and structurally sound.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot structural defects and equipment malfunctions using technical engineering principles.
- Carry out civil maintenance inspections and routine checks of facility integrity.
- Conduct occupational health and safety inspections to ensure compliance with workplace building and environmental safety regulations.
- Coordinate civil maintenance interventions, update engineering logbooks and work with other operational maintenance teams.
Required profile
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or Building and Civil Works from a recognised institution.
- Practical civil engineering experience in facility maintenance or construction is an added advantage.
