Postdoctoral Fellow – Biometrics

About the role

The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biometrics to contribute to collaborative natural resource management research. The role involves high‑level scientific guidance, interdisciplinary teamwork, and engagement with international partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific guidance ensuring research concepts and methods meet the highest standards.
• Collaborate with theme coordinators to define and implement emerging research activities.
• Write, supervise, and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications and scientific communications.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives and mentor junior scientists and students.
• Represent CIFOR in national, regional, and global forums on forest governance.
• Develop partnerships, seek additional research funding, and manage project budgets and donor reporting.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., natural resource management, social science).
• Experience in collaborative research, budgeting, and multi‑project management.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Demonstrated success in resource mobilization, proposal development, and securing donor funding.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional international language(s) advantageous.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams and with multiple partners in developing countries.
