Power Plant Superintendent

About the role

The Power Plant Superintendent will lead the operation and maintenance of a diesel‑driven power plant supporting a US Navy program. This onsite role ensures reliable, safe and efficient electricity generation for critical mission needs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operation of three‑phase/60 Hz diesel generators (≥1,000 kW) and associated plant systems.
• Monitor plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety, operational and efficiency standards.
• Assign tasks, manage schedules for plant personnel and maintenance activities.
• Develop and implement procedures to optimise generation and minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot generator and power‑distribution issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain operational, maintenance and compliance documentation.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment to verify readiness.
• Ensure adherence to occupational safety and health regulations, including PPE use.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years documented experience operating three‑phase/60 Hz diesel generators of at least 1,000 kW.
• Proven knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance planning and safety protocols.
• Ability to lead a team, assign work and meet operational schedules.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills for audits and compliance.
