Programme Coordinator - Youth Engagement

About the role

The Programme Coordinator – Youth Engagement will lead Restless Development Uganda’s youth‑led initiatives across multiple regions, ensuring young people’s voices shape community actions and policies. This role sits at the heart of the Uganda Youth Collective, coordinating over 600 youth‑led organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor youth engagement programmes in Karamoja, West Nile, Eastern and Central Uganda.
• Facilitate the Uganda Youth Collective, fostering collaboration among member organisations.
• Ensure safeguarding standards are upheld across all activities and partners.
• Produce regular reports on programme progress, outcomes and lessons learned.
• Support capacity‑building for youth‑led organisations and enterprises.
• Represent Restless Development in stakeholder meetings, policy dialogues and community events.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in youth development, international development or a related field.
• Proven experience coordinating programmes for youth‑led organisations in low‑resource settings.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and ability to apply them in practice.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with fluency in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including NGOs, government bodies and community groups.
