Programs Volunteer – On‑site Role in Uganda

About the role

The Programs Volunteer supports the delivery and improvement of life‑skills and education programmes for children in Uganda. This on‑site role involves assisting classroom and workshop activities, preparing materials, and helping facilitate interactive sessions that develop critical thinking, communication, and self‑management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with classroom and workshop activities.
• Prepare learning materials and facilitate interactive sessions.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather feedback, monitor participation, and suggest adjustments.
• Support outreach to schools and communities, document programme activities, and contribute ideas to enhance curriculum content.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage respectfully with children, educators, and community members.
• Interest in education, youth development, or community work, with willingness to learn about life‑skills education.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities for scheduling, material preparation, and documentation.
• Adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work on‑site in Uganda with reliable attendance.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non‑discriminatory practices.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in English.
