Project Assistant – Community Development (Arua)

About the role

The Project Assistant will support Raising The Village’s community‑based initiatives in the Arua region. Working closely with partner villages, you will help design, implement and monitor projects aimed at increasing household income and reducing extreme poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback on designs and budgets.
• Co‑facilitate training sessions on financial literacy, water and sanitation, agriculture, livestock management, and health outreach.
• Implement RTV’s project methodologies, verify goods and inputs before distribution, and submit procurement lists.
• Conduct regular follow‑up visits, provide guidance to community groups, and identify risks with mitigation measures.
• Develop and manage work plans, produce weekly field reports, and support donor reporting and proposal writing.
• Attend weekly staff and cluster meetings, submit financial requests, and capture project photos for data repositories.
• Provide feedback to the Project Officer and Manager to improve project delivery and sustainability.

Required profile

• University degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in community development programs, project management or facilitation.
• Strong training and facilitation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
