Project Assistant – Community Development (Rakai)

About the role

Raising The Village is seeking a motivated Project Assistant to support community development initiatives in Rakai and surrounding villages. You will work closely with partner communities, facilitate trainings, and help implement projects that aim to increase household income and reduce extreme poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project design review meetings with partner villages and provide feedback to refine designs and budgets.
• Co‑facilitate trainings on financial literacy, health and sanitation, agriculture, livestock management, and other thematic areas.
• Implement RTV’s methodologies to achieve project objectives and monitor progress.
• Prepare procurement lists, verify goods and inputs before distribution, and manage follow‑up support for community groups.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and report on project performance to leadership.

Required profile

• University degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in community development programs, project management, or facilitation.
• Fluent in English and local languages where RTV operates.
• Willingness to travel up to 80 % of the time and physically able to navigate rugged terrain.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
