Project Assistant – Multiple Locations in Uganda

About the role

Raising The Village is seeking motivated Project Assistants to support the implementation of community‑driven projects across several districts in Uganda. You will work closely with partner villages, the Project Officer and local stakeholders to ensure activities are delivered on time and achieve the intended impact on household income and poverty reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project design review meetings, provide feedback and help update budgets before implementation.
• Co‑facilitate training sessions on financial literacy, health‑sanitation, agriculture, livestock management and other thematic areas.
• Prepare and submit procurement lists, verify goods before distribution, and manage logistics for field activities.
• Conduct regular follow‑up visits with community groups and households to monitor compliance and address challenges.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures and report on project performance to leadership and donors.
• Develop weekly work plans, complete field reports and support donor reporting and proposal writing.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in project implementation or community development.
• Willingness to travel up to 80 % of the time across remote villages.
• Fluency in local languages (Runyoro, Rutooro, Rukiga, Runyankore, Kinyarwanda, etc.) as required for each district.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with community members and partners.
