Project Controls Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior Project Controls Engineer to manage cost and schedule performance for a 24‑month construction program in Kampala, Uganda. The role supports the U.S. Embassy construction initiative and involves close coordination with the Project Director and Contracting Officer Representative.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the OBO field office operations related to contract cost and schedule, preparing reports and control documentation.
• Supervise data entry and documentation control specialists.
• Control contractor submittals, RFIs, and as‑built drawings; review monthly payment applications and advise the Project Director/COR.
• Evaluate contract modification requests, perform quantity take‑offs, and assist in Independent Government Estimates.
• Support contract administration, negotiate modifications or claims, and interpret contract provisions.
• Participate in meetings, prepare minutes, maintain daily construction logs, and coordinate with project staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in commercial construction project controls.
• Recent experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Overseas construction experience; U.S. Embassy program experience highly desired.
