Project Officer – Child Protection & Early Childhood Development

About the role

The Project Officer will join the CRS project team in Kampala, supporting the implementation and monitoring of child protection and early childhood development activities. Working closely with partners, government officials, and community networks, the officer will help strengthen systems that serve vulnerable families.

Key responsibilities

• Support coordination and implementation of project activities according to the detailed implementation plan and CRS quality standards.
• Monitor progress, identify challenges or gaps, and recommend adjustments to schedules and plans.
• Assist partners in reflecting on project experiences and collecting data for evaluation.
• Coordinate project evaluation activities and help partners analyze data using specified tools.
• Prepare and submit regular reports in collaboration with local partners.
• Identify staff capacity and technical assistance needs, and monitor related capacity‑building activities.
• Document project activities, compile case studies, and report on promising practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
• At least 2 years of experience in project support, preferably in Child Protection or Early Childhood Development.
• Experience with participatory action planning and community engagement.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to field locations outside Kampala.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
