Project Officer

About the role

The Project Officer will join the CRS Uganda programming team in Kampala, supporting the implementation and monitoring of child protection, early childhood development, and family strengthening activities. Working closely with local partners, government counterparts, and community networks, the officer will help ensure high‑quality delivery and impact for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Support coordination and implementation of project activities according to the detailed implementation plan and CRS quality standards.
• Monitor progress, identify challenges, and report gaps to enable timely adjustments.
• Assist partners in reflecting on project experiences and collecting data for evaluation.
• Coordinate project evaluation activities and help partners analyze data using prescribed tools.
• Prepare regular reports in collaboration with local partners.
• Identify staff capacity and technical assistance needs, and monitor related capacity‑building activities.
• Maintain complete documentation for assigned activities and contribute to case studies and best‑practice reports.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (minimum 24 months) in project coordination or related field.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to project sites outside Kampala.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
