Purchase Manager

About the role

Impala Feeds Distribution Ltd is seeking a proactive Purchase Manager to oversee the procurement of raw materials essential for feed production. Based in Kamwokya, Kampala, the role ensures timely availability, quality compliance, and cost‑effective sourcing within the Ugandan market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchase plans aligned with production schedules while maintaining minimum safety stock levels.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local suppliers on price, delivery, payment terms and quality standards.
• Monitor market price trends and prepare weekly purchasing budgets and tender information.
• Manage inventory turnover of raw materials and critical items, ensuring accurate stock records.
• Oversee payment terms and maintain credit relationships with all suppliers.
• Achieve core goals: on‑time material availability, adherence to quality standards, optimal credit terms, and competitive pricing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–3 years of proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within manufacturing or production.
• Strong negotiation, analytical problem‑solving, market research and inventory management capabilities.
