Regional Agriculture Officer – Multiple Districts

About the role

The Regional Agriculture Officer provides technical leadership and coordination for agriculture extension work—including cropping and livestock—across several districts. The role focuses on training, capacity‑building and harmonising methodologies for government extension officers and RTV staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and planning of agriculture extension activities across the region.
• Conduct harmonisation and capacity‑building trainings for government extension officers and RTV staff.
• Provide technical support on crop, soil, pest and post‑harvest management.
• Oversee agricultural pilots and demonstration gardens, collect data and report on yields.
• Identify key risks for clusters and implement mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with procurement to guide seed specifications and verification.
• Attend district, regional and staff meetings to discuss agricultural issues and solutions.

Required profile

• University degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Technology or a related field.
• 3–5 years experience in agricultural programming, including coordination or training across multiple districts.
• Experience in community development and knowledge of organic pesticide and soil management.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills in English and local languages where RTV operates.
• Fluent in local languages of the region.
• Proficient in data collection, reporting and use of Microsoft Suite.
