About the role
The Relationship Manager will grow and retain client relationships across a defined portfolio that includes Commercial Banking, Agribusiness, Public Sector, and Africa‑China Banking in Western Uganda. The role focuses on delivering an excellent client experience while driving profitability for the bank.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a segment/sector portfolio, executing product offerings and initiatives to optimise client experience and bank profitability.
- Apply sound account management principles to maintain a healthy credit portfolio, reducing excesses and overdue accounts.
- Inform clients of credit application requirements, ensure indemnities are in place, and act on client instructions within defined mandates.
- Source market information and trends to provide proactive insights to clients and internal teams.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the existing client base to meet financial targets.
- Design solutions that address client needs and recommend operational improvements to minimise risk.
Required profile
- First‑degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting.
- 5‑7 years of relationship management experience as a Business Banker or Relationship Manager with a proven performance record.
- Strong product knowledge, including specialised financial products and structures.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and client financial analysis.
- Proven ability to prepare and motivate credit applications.
