Security Driver – Kampala

About the role

The Security Driver provides safe, timely, and secure transportation for staff and equipment while supporting International Justice Mission’s safety and security protocols in Kampala.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain vehicle condition, safety equipment, and trip documentation to ensure compliance.
• Provide real‑time updates on travel plans, security alerts, and logistical needs to relevant stakeholders.
• Record trip logs, maintenance reports, and fuel usage accurately for monitoring.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and safety checks to prevent hazards.
• Brief passengers on organizational safety and security guidelines and follow up on any security events per IJM procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in a related field; defensive‑driving certificate required.
• At least five years of professional driving experience with a clean incident record.
• Valid driver’s licence (classes B, C1, D1) and ability to operate both manual and automatic vehicles on rough terrain.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to use digital tools for documentation.
