Simu Investigations Supervisor – Eastern Region

About the role

Watu Uganda is seeking a Simu Investigations Supervisor for the Eastern Region. The role will be based in Jinja or Mbale and will lead field operations related to the Simu product, overseeing a team of field officers and coordinating closely with the legal department.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor portfolio quality KPIs and detect fraud concerns at dealer, agent and client levels.
• Collaborate with Simu product, backend and commercial teams to identify fraud leads.
• Manage the investigation process for assigned cases, ensuring speed, legal compliance and efficiency.
• Gather evidence using police, intelligence contacts, surveillance, interviews and on‑site visits.
• Prepare robust legal cases with the Watu legal team and support prosecution, including court appearances.
• Recover stolen assets and return them to the appropriate Watu branch.
• Provide daily performance reports and update case progress for stakeholders.
• Develop initiatives to prevent, detect and respond to fraud, including improvements to KYC and onboarding processes.

Required profile

• Dynamic and competent professional with experience in field investigations or fraud detection.
• Strong ability to lead and coach a team of field officers.
• Excellent liaison skills with legal teams and law‑enforcement agencies.
• Willingness to work onsite in the Eastern Region of Uganda.

Required skills

• Knowledge of investigative techniques, evidence gathering and case management.
• Familiarity with local police and intelligence networks.
• Understanding of legal processes related to fraud prosecution.
