Strategy Manager

About the role

The Strategy Manager will lead the development and execution of strategic plans for Old Mutual’s Uganda operations, turning market insights into actionable business initiatives. This role works closely with senior leaders to ensure disciplined strategy implementation and high‑quality reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the strategic planning cycle for Uganda businesses, integrate country plans into the consolidated group plan and support board engagements.
• Provide timely intelligence on market dynamics, competitive landscape, regulatory changes and craft strategic narratives for leadership.
• Conduct deep‑dive analyses, develop business cases and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Monitor financial performance, track strategic initiatives, and prepare executive performance reports on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Lead critical decision‑analysis workstreams, identify optimisation opportunities and flag issues for course correction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in business analysis, management consulting, financial services or corporate strategy.
• Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking and ability to work under tight deadlines.
