Sustainable Land Management Officer

About the role

World Vision Uganda is seeking a Sustainable Land Management Officer to lead climate‑smart agriculture interventions in refugee settlements and host communities in Adjumani and Lamwo. The role provides technical leadership for land restoration, soil health improvement, and sustainable livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of Sustainable Land Management (SLM) interventions across project areas.
• Promote climate‑smart land use practices that enhance soil fertility, water conservation, and ecosystem restoration.
• Support landscape restoration and ecological regeneration initiatives in degraded zones.
• Facilitate adoption of soil and water conservation technologies among beneficiaries.
• Promote conservation agriculture and agroforestry systems to boost productivity and climate resilience.
• Coordinate community‑based natural resource management and environmental rehabilitation activities.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in sustainable land management, climate‑smart agriculture, or ecological restoration.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and coordinate field interventions.
• Experience working with refugee and host communities is an advantage.
