About the role

As a Talent Scientist – Graduate Lead you will shape Canonical’s graduate hiring strategy in Uganda. You will partner with academic institutions, drive data‑focused talent analytics and ensure a bias‑free, high‑impact recruitment process.

Key responsibilities

• Build effective partnerships with leading academic institutions to raise awareness of graduate opportunities.
• Create compelling propositions to attract top talent to Canonical.
• Drive talent analytics and provide real‑time insights to streamline hiring processes.
• Conduct in‑depth behavioural interviews and deliver actionable insights.
• Maintain key relationships with global stakeholders to meet hiring targets.
• Generate data‑driven insights to support robust decision‑making.
• Champion employer branding and candidate experience.
• Review, streamline and continuously improve hiring processes and tools.
• Collaborate with external platforms to maximise ROI.
• Promote diversity and inclusion, removing unconscious bias from recruitment.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic background (Bachelors or Masters) in Psychology or a people‑focused discipline.
• Experience hiring talent in the technology sector, especially for graduate programmes.
• Data‑driven mindset with ability to produce measurable outcomes using SQL.
• Passion for scientific talent selection and predictive hiring methods.
• Familiarity with psychometric assessments and their interpretation.
• Proven ability to conduct behavioural, competency‑based interviews and train stakeholders.
• Strong personal organisation, self‑motivation for remote work and willingness to travel for company events.
