Transportation Dispatcher for USAF Operations

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher to support a United States Air Force logistics mission. The role involves coordinating the dispatch of government‑owned and rental vehicles, ensuring timely and safe transportation for U.S. Government personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Dispatch transportation vehicles and equipment for scheduled and unscheduled assignments, meeting strict time standards (±15 minutes during normal hours, within two hours after hours).
• Ensure B‑Pool, C‑Pool, and rental vehicles are used exclusively by U.S. Government personnel in compliance with regulations.
• Perform or supervise vehicle and equipment inspections at check‑out and check‑in, documenting discrepancies on NAVFAC forms and operator checklists.
• Maintain accurate logs of dispatch activities, vehicle assignments, usage, and condition reports.
• Monitor fleet availability, coordinate schedules, and optimize vehicle allocation.
• Communicate trip details, special requirements, and instructions to government personnel and vehicle operators.
• Assist operators in resolving equipment or vehicle discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary.
• Track maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance personnel to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
• Enforce safety standards and operating procedures for all transportation services.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (approximately 2 years) in transportation, logistics, or fleet management.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government transportation regulations and vehicle inspection documentation.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and discrepancy reporting.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with government personnel and vehicle operators.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and customer‑focused service.
