Travel Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Travel Consultant to join a leading tour operator in Uganda. The role involves creating memorable travel experiences for clients by handling bookings, providing expert advice, and ensuring smooth trip execution.

Key responsibilities

• Make and confirm airline reservations using timetables, airline manuals and tariff books.
• Enter flight numbers into an online reservation system and verify seat availability.
• Contact customers to inform them of flight changes, cancellations or confirmations.
• Research destinations, pricing, customs, weather and reviews to advise clients.
• Diagnose client preferences and recommend suitable travel packages.
• Organise end‑to‑end travel arrangements, including tickets, accommodation and transport.
• Provide travelers with relevant guides, maps and event information.
• Collect deposits and balance payments, and maintain financial records.
• Promote tour itineraries and prepare promotional materials.
• Attend conferences to stay updated on tourism trends.
• Maintain electronic client records and nurture key relationships.

Required profile

• Personal travel experience with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong sales and communication abilities.
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality, Travel or Tourism.

Required skills

• Experience with Amadeus or Galileo reservation systems.
