Volunteer Climate Career Mentor

About the role

The Volunteer Climate Career Mentor will support students and early‑career professionals who are exploring or developing careers in climate action and sustainability. Based in Kampala, the mentor will guide participants through green‑job pathways, emerging climate‑innovation trends, and networking opportunities. This unpaid role focuses on community impact and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate small‑group sessions, workshops, and one‑on‑one conversations on climate‑related career paths.
• Develop and share practical career resources, such as guides, toolkits, and networking contacts.
• Collaborate with Greenlyf Foundation staff to align mentorship activities with the organization’s Net Zero objectives.
• Track mentee progress, document outcomes, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong interest or background in climate action, environmental sustainability, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, or guide students and early‑career professionals.
• Excellent listening, empathy, and goal‑setting capabilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex climate concepts.
• Willingness to work onsite in Kampala and engage with diverse community members.
