Aircraft Load Planner

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Load Planner to certify aircraft load plans for the US Military and support air shipments from CONUS to OCONUS and various overseas sites. The role ensures weight distribution complies with safety regulations and aircraft limits while coordinating with Army units and Air Force loadmasters.

Key responsibilities

• Certify weight distribution of aircraft with cargo, baggage, and passengers according to safety regulations and aircraft limits.
• Develop load and cargo distribution plans using AALPS and ICODES.
• Review aircraft weight and balance records and cargo manifests.
• Determine quantity and placement of cargo, passengers, or troops.
• Compute weight and balance for each compartment and station, considering fuel load, structural limits, and emergency equipment.
• Coordinate with US Army units and Air Force loadmasters to ensure proper loading.

Required profile

• Minimum two (2) years experience operating AALPS and/or ICODES (ICODES preferred).
• Minimum two (2) years experience with Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES).
• Minimum two (2) years experience with Global Decision Support System II (GDSS II).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD HAZMAT Inspector certification.
• Strong communication skills with military and civilian personnel.
• Ability to make decisions under competing priorities with sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Self‑starter capable of working with limited supervision.
