Apprentice – Information Risk Management (IRM)

About the role

This apprenticeship supports Absa Bank Uganda’s Information Risk Management function. You will help protect the bank’s information assets by assisting with controls across logical access, data privacy, and records management, gaining hands‑on experience in banking risk frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in provisioning system access and supporting periodic user access reviews for critical banking systems.
• Track access review exceptions, maintain audit evidence, and help identify segregation of duties conflicts.
• Support monitoring of privileged accounts and ensure approvals are documented.
• Help implement data privacy controls in line with the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and Bank of Uganda guidelines.
• Participate in maintaining the Record of Processing Activities and handling data subject rights requests.
• Contribute to records management activities, including supporting implementation of related controls.
