Area Coordinator

About the role

The Area Coordinator will lead a team of 6‑7 field staff who act as sales agents and loan officers, reporting to the Director. Based in Mbale, Uganda, the role is responsible for achieving sales and client repayment targets while fostering a culture of ownership and transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and support group coordinators to meet sales, loan repayment, data collection and reporting targets; conduct performance reviews and deliver internal training.
• Recruit, train and onboard new group coordinators as needed using the company curriculum.
• Analyse customer relationships, identify service improvements and travel frequently to monitor activities and engage with clients.
• Evaluate and improve existing company processes; manage the area office including stock reconciliation, record keeping, expense oversight and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of work experience, including at least one year managing a team and two years as a loan or field officer in rural areas.
• Strong team‑player attitude, excellent listening skills and ability to build lasting trust with clients and staff.
• High sense of ownership, self‑driven, highly organised and able to work independently toward targets.
• Demonstrated ethics and integrity; knowledge of local dialects is a strong advantage.
