Asset Care Technician

About the role
The Asset Care Technician will operate, maintain, repair and optimise plant equipment in Uganda Breweries Limited’s packaging facility. The role focuses on improving reliability, availability, quality and performance while working in a safe and hygienic environment.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret and support the shift production plan and optimise resource consumption.
- Measure, record, trend and analyse production performance; initiate corrective actions.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, breakdown repairs and machine start‑up/shut‑down.
- Manage SAP CMMS tasks, including notifications (ZPMS, ZPMR, ZPMM).
- Apply problem‑solving techniques (5‑why, DMAIC, RCPS) to identify root causes.
- Develop and maintain OPLs, SOPs, RCM and FMEC analyses.
- Monitor cost, MTTR and MTBF; conduct machine inspections (TEBWA).
- Ensure compliance with EHS, PPE, LOTO, 5S and hygiene standards.
Required profile
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 1 year of shift work experience in a production environment.
- Computer literate with proven understanding of SAP.
- Ability to work long hours, be on call for emergency breakdowns and coordinate with OEMs.
