Auto Electrician (M/F) – Vehicle & Equipment Electrical Specialist

About the role

The Auto Electrician will install, repair, maintain and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems in a variety of vehicles, machinery and equipment. Working on petrol and diesel engines, heavy‑duty vehicles and construction equipment, you will ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair petrol, diesel and heavy‑duty vehicles as well as engineering equipment.
• Diagnose, replace and repair faulty fuses, lamps, wiring, batteries, alternators, starter motors and ignition systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and regular electrical inspections, diagnostics and functional checks.
• Install, service and repair automotive electrical components such as alternators, gauges, lighting systems, sensors and electronic control modules.
• Use diagnostic tools and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals to resolve faults.
• Collaborate with departmental teams to ensure all vehicles and equipment are inspected and maintained.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase maintenance efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a Technical/Vocational Certificate in Automotive Electrical Systems, Electromechanics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years proven experience as an Auto Electrician.
• Experience with light vehicles, heavy‑duty vehicles and construction equipment is an advantage.
• Strong ability to diagnose, repair and service electronic and automotive‑controlled vehicle systems.
