Before or Aftercare Staff – Central Denison Elementary

About the role

The Geneva Lakes Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic before‑ and after‑care staff to support children ages 3 to 12 at Central Denison Elementary School. This part‑time, school‑year position provides approximately 22.5 hours per week, covering morning (6:30‑8:30 AM) and afternoon (3:30‑6 PM) sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children in before‑ and after‑school programs, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Implement the Y‑BASE program and plan daily activities that promote meaningful learning.
• Communicate professionally with elementary school staff, parents, and YMCA directors.
• Follow Geneva Lakes Family YMCA and school disciplinary and emergency procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized program spaces and perform additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Genuine interest in child development and the ability to serve as a positive role model.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of Presidium Child Abuse Courses, CPR certification (within 30 days of hire), and Abusive Head Trauma Prevention course.
• Pass a FBI background check prior to start date.
