Business Development Manager – Kampala

About the role

A client, a customer-focused logistics company offering freight forwarding, transport, warehousing and supply chain solutions in Uganda and Kenya, is hiring a Business Development Manager to be based in its Kampala office. The role focuses on identifying and pursuing new business, building strong client relationships and driving revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy, identify new opportunities and market trends, and support the sales team to meet sales targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients and high-value accounts, including negotiations, contract renewals and customer support.
• Lead marketing and brand strategies to raise brand awareness and generate leads.
• Develop pricing strategies, commercial models, partnerships and contracts.
• Lead, mentor and develop the commercial team, monitor KPIs and foster collaboration across departments.
• Manage commercial budgets, forecast sales and work with finance on revenue tracking.
• Oversee contract management, negotiations, compliance with internal procedures and risk management.
• Drive effective use of the CRM system and monitor outstanding accounts and debt collection.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Sales or a related field.
• Proven track record of driving business growth, managing teams and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong experience in contract negotiation, business development and key account management.
• High integrity, excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and results-driven approach.
