Care Assistant for Primary School Classroom

About the role

Mornington Primary School is looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to join its FS2 classroom team. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help create a nurturing environment that supports the learning and wellbeing of our youngest pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities.
• Provide intimate personal care and support to children as needed.
• Promote inclusion and maintain high expectations for all pupils.
• Help manage classroom resources and maintain a safe, tidy environment.
• Support individual learners and contribute to whole‑class learning.

Required profile

• Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with children and families.
• Team‑player who contributes to the school’s ethos and continuous improvement.
• Willing to work under the direction of the class teacher and use initiative when appropriate.

Required skills

• Experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
