CBT Therapist

About the role

Skill Switch is seeking a CBT Therapist to join its mental‑health team in Kamwokya. The role focuses on delivering evidence‑based cognitive behavioural therapy to clients dealing with anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD and related conditions. You will work within a structured, goal‑oriented framework to help clients identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized CBT treatment plans.
• Guide clients through cognitive restructuring, exposure exercises and behavioural experiments.
• Assign and review homework, monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate case notes and adhere to confidentiality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month experience delivering CBT or related therapeutic interventions.
• Strong understanding of the cognitive‑behavioural model and its application.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build therapeutic rapport.
• Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development.
