CFCT Junior Officer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Officer to support community‑based initiatives that improve education outcomes, child protection and livelihood opportunities in rural Uganda. The role involves close collaboration with volunteers, parent groups and farmer associations to deliver training, counseling and market linkage services, while travelling to field sites on a motorbike.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate community awareness, training and mobilization activities to enhance education and parental engagement.
• Organise and support community groups, volunteers and parent‑led initiatives for learning and child protection.
• Provide basic guidance, counselling and referral services for vulnerable children and families.
• Mobilise, train and mentor Village Savings and Loan Associations and other livelihood groups.
• Assist households in developing sustainable income‑generating activities and improving food security.
• Train and coach farmers on improved agricultural practices, post‑harvest handling and farm management.
• Facilitate market linkages, value‑chain development and access to livelihood information.
• Collect, analyse and report programme data, ensuring accurate documentation of results.
• Contribute to proposal development, activity planning, monitoring and donor reporting.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least five years of relevant experience in community development, agriculture or education projects.
• Valid, non‑expired driver’s licence and ability to ride a motorbike safely.
• Good physical health to work in rural field settings.
• Strong communication, facilitation and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Community mobilisation and training.
• Livelihood group facilitation (e.g., VSLAs).
• Basic counselling and referral for vulnerable populations.
• Data collection, analysis and reporting.
