Chief of Party

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a highly qualified Chief of Party to lead a UK‑FCDO funded consortium of five partners delivering area‑based assistance in Uganda. The role oversees the Consortium Management Unit (CMU), ensures quality implementation, and represents the consortium to donors, government, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and consolidation of a multi‑year intervention across all consortium partners.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the donor and coordinate with public, private and non‑government stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, financial tracking, budget oversight and donor reporting.
• Chair the Steering Committee, provide regular updates and ensure effective governance aligned with the consortium’s structure.
• Manage staff wellbeing, coaching, performance assessments and recruitment within the CMU.
• Gather, analyse and disseminate data, policies and best practices to support NGOs, CSOs and government entities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in leading large‑scale, multi‑partner humanitarian or development programmes.
• Proven ability to manage donor relations, financial oversight and compliance.
• Strong coordination skills with government authorities at national and regional levels.
• Demonstrated experience in staff management, coaching and performance evaluation.
