Chief of Party

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a highly qualified Chief of Party to lead a UK‑FCDO funded consortium of five partners delivering area‑based assistance in Uganda. The role oversees the Consortium Management Unit (CMU), ensures quality implementation, and represents the consortium to donors, government, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and consolidation of a multi‑year humanitarian intervention across all partners.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the donor and coordinate with public, private and non‑government stakeholders.
• Ensure contractual compliance, financial tracking, budget oversight and timely reporting to the donor.
• Chair the Steering Committee, provide regular updates and ensure effective governance of the consortium.
• Manage the CMU team, coach staff, conduct performance assessments and oversee recruitment.
• Gather, analyse and disseminate data, policies and best practices to support NGOs, CSOs and government entities.
• Lead advocacy initiatives and produce high‑quality reports.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading multi‑partner humanitarian programmes or consortia.
• Proven track record in donor management, financial oversight and compliance.
• Strong understanding of governance structures, PCM and MEAL frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
