Claims Assurance Associate - Maternity Cover

About the role

Maisha Meds is hiring a Claims Assurance Associate for its Programs Assurance Team on a fixed-term maternity cover. The role safeguards program integrity by verifying program claims accurately and consistently, in line with organizational policies and quality standards. It is based in Uganda with limited travel to field operations, reports to the Assurance Manager and carries no supervisory responsibilities. The expected start date is September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and adjudicate program claims, deciding whether to approve, reject or escalate them according to policies, guidelines and service level agreements.
• Identify and document non-compliant, high-risk or potentially fraudulent claims and escalate cases for further investigation.
• Maintain accurate records of claim verifications and decisions, meeting quality assurance and audit requirements.
• Document claim trends, operational risks and fraud indicators in periodic reports, with recommendations for process and system improvement.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve claim issues and support efficient verification.
• Uphold standards on confidentiality, data protection and professionalism.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (Public Health, Pharmacy or Nursing); Project Management, Customer Service or related qualifications also considered.
• At least one year of experience in healthcare, health programs or related environments.
• Experience working remotely or in a hybrid setting, managing tasks independently.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with attention to detail and deadline awareness.

Required skills

• Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite and Slack.
• CRM or case management platforms such as HubSpot, and quick learning of new digital systems.
