Consultant – CHWR & eCHIS Interoperability (2 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a short‑term consultant to strengthen Uganda’s community health system by designing and implementing interoperability between the Community Health Worker Registry (CHWR) and the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS). The role focuses on enabling seamless data exchange, synchronising CHW records and integrating them into the national data warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop APIs and data pipelines to connect CHWR with eCHIS.
• Implement HL7 FHIR and OpenHIE standards for health data exchange.
• Create analytics dashboards and geo‑referenced visualisations for service coverage monitoring.
• Test, deploy and validate the integrated solution in collaboration with national stakeholders.
• Provide capacity‑building workshops and technical support to ensure sustainable use.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in digital health systems and health information interoperability.
• Proven track record with DHIS2 and data‑warehouse integration projects.
• Fluency in English.
