Consultant for Gender Equitable Early Learning Baseline Survey (Uganda)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced consultant to lead the baseline survey for the Gender Equitable Early Learning and Development (GEELD) project in Uganda. The assignment will run for 60 working days, starting 1 July 2026, and will support the Aga Khan Foundation’s effort to assess early childhood education services across Mukono and Luwero districts.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive baseline survey covering 2,400 children, parents, educators and community actors.
- Coordinate field data collection in 20 ECCE centres and related community sites.
- Ensure data quality, manage data entry, and conduct statistical analysis.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Aga Khan Foundation, district officials and local partners throughout the study.
Required profile
- Proven experience conducting baseline or impact surveys in early childhood education.
- Familiarity with the Ugandan education context and relevant stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work independently for a 60‑day contract and travel to field sites.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
