About the role
The Country Manager will act as the senior corporate representative for the nation, overseeing governance, commercial performance and operational excellence. This role reports directly to Global Headquarters and is responsible for driving growth, profitability and regulatory compliance across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee legal entity governance, including statutory permits, operating licenses, corporate registrations and local regulatory frameworks.
- Serve as the primary liaison with federal and local authorities, customs, trade ministries, port officials and agricultural health regulators.
- Hold full P&L accountability, driving top‑line revenue, gross‑margin optimization and bottom‑line earnings.
- Develop and execute business‑development frameworks to capture new market segments, establish key enterprise accounts and expand regional market share.
- Build market‑intelligence capabilities to monitor macro‑economic shifts, pricing movements, competitive dynamics and import/export flows.
- Direct credit‑control strategies and working‑capital management to optimize cash flow and manage receivables.
- Lead local supply‑chain planning, inventory management and warehouse distribution to ensure product availability.
- Establish enterprise‑level KPIs, performance metrics and operational review systems for continuous improvement.
- Build, mentor and cultivate a high‑performing local leadership team aligned with global corporate principles.
- Act as the conduit between national operations and Global HQ, delivering strategic performance reviews, market forecasts and executive recommendations.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (Master’s/MBA preferred) or Bachelor’s in Business, Economics, International Commerce or related discipline.
- Proven senior management experience with full country P&L stewardship and enterprise‑level leadership.
- Exposure to B2B international commerce, wholesale distribution, global supply chain or agricultural commodity markets.
- Demonstrated ability to design commercial growth strategies, achieve earnings targets and build senior stakeholder networks.
- High ethical standards, exceptional communication skills and ability to lead multicultural matrixed organisations.
