About the role
Uwezo Microfinance Limited is seeking motivated Credit Officers for its Mbarara branch. The role involves evaluating loan applications, interacting with clients, and managing loan portfolios to support the micro‑finance mission in Uganda.
Key responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Review loan requests, analyze financial statements, and calculate risk or debt‑to‑income ratios.
- Client Interaction: Meet with applicants to gather financial data, discuss credit options, and set up payment plans.
- Decision Making: Approve or reject loan applications based on institutional policies and legal compliance.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor existing loans, track payment progress, and handle renewals or early signs of default.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, Accounting, or a related field.
- Mid‑level experience, approximately 12 months of relevant credit or loan assessment work.
