Dental Assistant for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Dental Assistant to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will provide chair‑side assistance, manage dental records, and ensure a safe, efficient clinic environment for military personnel and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate medical/dental records for all employees, including pre‑employment exams, x‑rays, and treatment histories.
• Assist the dentist during patient visits by preparing instruments, sterilizing equipment, and providing chair‑side support.
• Capture dental radiographs following safety and quality protocols.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene guidance and post‑treatment instructions.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure the clinic meets infection‑control standards.
• Support government inspections by providing access to dental and medical records as required.

Required profile

• Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, including chair‑side assistance and radiography.
• Strong attention to detail in record‑keeping and compliance with US government regulations.
• Knowledge of infection‑control practices and instrument sterilization.
